MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - Madison County officials plan to launch a prescription drug discount program Monday.

The Coast2Coast RX program is already being used in other counties and cities around the country.

Through the program, residents can get a discount card for prescription drugs to use at participating pharmacies.

It applies to anyone living in Madison County, as well as family members living outside the county. It even applies to pets.

There are no requirements as far as health, age, or income.

The card provides up to 65 percent savings on prescriptions, but those savings vary depending on the prescription and the pharmacy.

The card also provides discounts of up to 80 percent on lab tests and imaging.

Meanwhile, the county gets a royalty for every prescription filled.

Tim Johnson, president of the Madison County Board of Supervisors is launching the program along with Financial Marketing Concepts.

You can get a discount card at

There, you can print a discount card, and get information about prescription pricing and participating pharmacies.

The card will also be available at participating pharmacies, government offices, county libraries, and county health facilities.
