CORINTH, Miss. (AP) - A Corinth man was being held without bond Monday after his weekend arrest in the death of his wife.
Corinth police Capt. Ralph Dance says the body of 36-year-old Joanna Pegg was found in the back of a pickup truck Friday night that was pulled over by officers.
Dance tells The Daily Corinthian that Preston Pegg Jr., identified as the woman's husband, has been charged with capital murder. Dance says the 36-year-old Pegg was denied bond during an initial appearance before a judge on Saturday.
Pegg was being held in the Alcorn County jail.
Dance says Joanna Pegg had been shot and her throat cut. An autopsy is pending.
The investigation continues.
