RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Reservoir area residents can expect to hear "muffled thumps" for the next three weeks.
Denbury Onshore will begin testing again for carbon dioxide in the reservoir.
Due to complaints in the past, Denbury wants to make area residents aware of the schedule. The dynamite charge tests are for the Denbury well located off of Fannin Landing Circle in Rankin County. Some residents living near the well say they appreciate the advance warning.
"Last night I received an email from the homeowners association. They stated they would do some work out here and let us know about the noise. They have certain people out here monitoring the noise levels," said Ricky Rayburn, of Arbor Landing subdivision.
The testing will be conducted only during daylight hours and only on weekdays. Denbury says they are taking proactive measures to reduce any inconvenience to neighbors. They are measuring and recording sound levels during the testing.
