Jackson, MS (WLBT) - The dangerous heat claims another life here in our state.
This marks the third heat related death. And it happened in Fayette which is in Jefferson County. The coroner says 48-year old Richard Sims died Monday evening while mowing a yard. The heat may have caused a heart attack. And officials in Jackson County say a 48 year old construction worker collapsed and died while spreading concrete on Mississippi Highway 613 in Moss Point. An autopsy revealed he died from hyperthermia. Up in north Mississippi, an 81 year old woman died over the weekend from heat stroke. She was found on the back porch of a relative's home near Hamilton.
