TYLERTOWN, Miss. (AP) - Officials with Walthall County General Hospital and Forrest General Hospital expect to have a new management agreement in place by Oct. 1.
This week, the Walthall County Board of Supervisors gave initial approval to agreement, expected to completed in September. The Mississippi Business Journal reports the agreement is for five years.
Forrest General will lease both the assets and the license to operate Walthall County General Hospital. Walthall County maintains ownership of the hospital building. All employees of Walthall County General Hospital will become Forrest General employees under the new agreement.
Evan Dillard, Forrest General president and CEO, says the Hattiesburg hospital has maintained a 25-year management agreement with Walthall County.
