Police continue search for armed robbery suspect

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Police are still searching for a suspect, after an armed robbery sent a northeast Jackson store clerk to the hospital Friday morning.

It happened at the S-L Quick Food Mart on Bounds Street. That's just off the I-55 South Frontage Road.

Police say two men walked in and fired a round. No one was hit. But the store owner, 42-year-old Gur-Mej Singh, was taken to UMC for other injuries. There was no one else inside at the time.

Police were able to capture this man, 34-year-old Christopher Washington. He was hiding under a carport on nearby Keele Street. Police are still searching for the other man involved.

They found his white shirt in a wooded area nearby. He's described as having dreadlocks and may be armed.
