Bells will soon be ringing across the capital city as students prepare for the first day of classes next week.
But 4 new JPS district buildings will not be ready to house students.
School officials say Bates Elementary, along with Cardozo , Kirksey and Peeples Middle Schools, are now set to be opened September 14th.
Until then, students enrolled in those schools will attend classes elsewhere in the district.
According to the Clarion-Ledger, the new projects represent $64 million of the $150 million bond that Jackson voters approved back in November 2006.
Officials say information on what schools students will attend will be mailed to parents.
