Officer Agee's family reflect on his life

Posted: Updated:

COLLINS, MS (WLBT) - The family of Officer Glen Agee plan to finalize his funeral arrangements today.

His family is still in disbelief. Pictures of Agee are hang proudly in his parents' home in Collins.

His younger brother, Dwight says he always looked up to Glen who set an example for all four brothers. At Collins High School Glen was a star basketball player. He also played at Mary Holmes College at Westpoint, where he majored in criminal justice.

Although a JPD rookie, Glen had about a decade of experience in law enforcement. He worked at the Mississippi Department of Corrections in Pearl, then at Whitfield State Hospital before becoming an officer with Jackson State University's campus police.

"You go to school then you finally become a police officer. That can be the best feeling. I know he was so happy. I hate that it ended in tragedy though," said brother, Dwight Agee.

Officer Agee was 31-years-old.
