OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - A north Mississippi woman says she was carrying a handful of hangers when she walked into her garage and saw a stranger holding her leaf blower.
She hit the would-be burglar several times, and he ran away.
The Oxford Eagle only used woman's first name - Laura - because of concerns about her security. She told the newspaper she wasn't about to let the man steal her hard-earned possessions.
The Lafayette County Sheriff's Department says it arrested 44-year-old Michael Lynn Adams of Oxford and charged him with aggravated assault and commercial burglary in the incident, which occurred Sunday.
Deputies say Adams was driving a purple convertible that didn't belong to him.
