Columbus annexation on hold

COLUMBUS, MS (WLBT) - The City of Columbus has put off annexation considerations until next year's budget is finished.

Based on city finances, a consultant has suggested city leaders annex in phases instead of all at once.

Seven areas are being considered.

The budget must be adopted by September 15th.
