WALTHALL COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A former Walthall County circuit clerk has pleaded guilty to helping her son after he escaped from a South Mississippi jail.

Pat Ginn Broussard resigned her elected position August 3rd.

She plead guilty to a charge of accessory after the fact.

Pat Broussard was then sentenced to three years of probation and a one-thousand-dollar fine.

She was accused of helping her son, Dustin Broussard, by wiring him money in Mexico in April.

Pat Broussard will also have to pay about 1,600 dollars in restitution to cover the cost of extraditing her son from Mexico.

If Broussard meets court conditions, the charges would be dismissed and expunged from her record.
