Court date set for man accused of attempted child abductions

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A court date has been set for the Jackson man accused of trying to abduct children in the city of Madison.

Forty-nine year-old Ricky Wayne Davis is scheduled to appear in Madison Municipal Court August 19th. He is charged with two counts of attempted exploitation of a child and two counts of attempted kidnapping.

Davis was arrested last Friday. Police had received reports of a man approaching children in the Sherbourne and Bradford place subdivisions. Davis is being held in the Madison County Detention Center.
