RIDGELAND, MS (WLBT) - A couple at a retirement community in Ridgeland proves you are never too old to find the love of your life.
Seventy-eight year-old Joyce Westwood married 72-year-old Charles Edward Barranco in a small Catholic ceremony Saturday.
The couple was joined by friends and family for a wedding reception at the Waterford where they met and fell in love. But Joyce says it was not love at first sight.
"It was a slow thing, he asked me what I was doing here. I said what are you doing here. We are going to live at the Waterford for the rest of our lives," said Mrs. Barranco.
"Getting to know one another, finding they have common ground, they love to read, they like to dance and they're kind of feisty in their own little ways to each other, but they love each other very much," said The Waterford Activity Director China Donnell.
When asked the secret to finding true love Joyce replied "old age and companionship." congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Barranco.
