METRO JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Drivers have been enjoying falling gas prices over the last week. But on Tuesday, gas prices jumped back up again.
In the Jackson metro area, a gallon of regular unleaded costs an average of $2.542, according to gasbuddy.com. That's up from about $2.528 Monday.
But it's still down from $2.581 last week.
This time last year, the average cost was $2.425.
Oil prices climbed for the first time in five trading sessionsTuesday as stock prices jumped with better economic news. But experts expect lower demand and crude oil prices to keep the cost of gas in check.
