ADAMS COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A storm system that moved over Mississippi Wednesay brought heavy rain and flash-flooding to Adams County, south of Natchez.

Part of Highway 61 was covered with six to eight inches of water south of the city. Mississippi Highway Patrol personnel were on the scene directing traffic around the flooded areas.

In the Robins Lake area and the Sibley community, residents in low-lying areas were evacuated as water quickly filled ditches and streams. At least two houses in that area were flooded. Some mudslides have also been reported.

There have been no reports of injuries.
