PETAL, Miss. (AP) - A group of residents in the town of Petal are asking local leaders to oust a family from their neighborhood.
Ray Harrington this week presented the Petal Board of Aldermen with a petition signed by the 11 residents.
The Hattiesburg American reports that Richard and Linda Gohlke rent the house. Their daughter Nova Ward, her three sons and one other person also live in the house.
Nova Ward admits the family has been a little too loud on occasions, but she didn't understand why the neighbors didn't tell them to quiet down instead of calling police. She says her family is planning to move.
Petal Police Chief Leonard Fuller says his department has received 21 calls about the residence in the past 18 months.
