MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A Horn Lake man says he didn't try to rape a teenage girl just steps from a Memphis high school earlier this week.

Samuel Rayburn, 67, plead not guilty of soliciting a minor to commit aggravated statutory rape in a Memphis courtroom today.

According to an affidavit of complaint, on May 18, 2010, a 15-year-old girl ran to school and reported that Rayburn, who was driving this yellow truck, had pulled up beside her and offered to take her to school.

The affidavit also says Rayburn tried to get the girl to perform a sex act.

"I think he got to be sick," parent Marilyn Mitchell said Thursday. "Something is really wrong with him."

A Memphis police officer assigned to Hamilton High School stopped Rayburn while he was driving near the school in his truck.  When authorities searched Rayburn's truck, they found a bed in the back, along with two paper bags that contained condoms.

Officers also discovered a hole had been cut out from inside the front of the truck, leading to the rear of the vehicle.

Police arrested Rayburn Wednesday after they saw him driving the yellow truck through the school zone, watching female students.

It's a crime some parents found disturbing.

"I wouldn't want it to happen to my child," Mitchell said. "I wouldn't want it to happen to anybody else's child.  I think he should be put away for a long time.  Throw the keys away."

Rayburn is set to be back in court on September 16.
