Officers testify at day three of Turner trial

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jurors in the federal re-trial of Antonio Turner viewed a video confession by turner of his part in the carjacking and shooting of a Jackson police officer.

It's day three of case being heard by Judge Daniel Jordan.

Wednesday afternoon, a couple of Jackson police officers testified.

On Monday, Turner's half-brother, Cornelius Black, took the stand.

During Turner's first trial, he was convicted on three counts related to the armed robbery of a Payday lending store on Highway 80, but jurors were deadlocked on whether he pulled the trigger, wounding Officer Dewayne Collier back in 2008, then stole his patrol car.

This time, jurors were chosen from a pool in Gulfport because of pre-trial publicity.
