
JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A federal jury has found Antonio Turner guilty for his involvement in the shooting of a Jackson Police officer.
Turner was convicted of armed carjacking and using a weapon in the commission of a violent crime. Officer Dewayne Collier was shot in 2008 after turner and his half brother robbed two businesses. After a high speed chase Turner wrecked the getaway car.
According to federal prosecutors, that's when turner opened fire with a 9mm handgun striking collier multiple times. Sentencing is set for November 15th. Turner faces a penalty of at least 67 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison.
