JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Skateboarders were trying to save a Jackson skate park from closing down Saturday. For the last ten years Doc 36 has been a place for skateboarders to let loose and work on their skills. It is located in the 900 block of Highway 80 near Gallatin Street.
Recently money has been tight for the park and they have been forced to shut down. Local skaters gathered Christian bands, had food donated and reopened the park for a day of fun and fundraising. The event lasted until 9:00 p.m. Saturday.
If you are interested in helping keep Doc 36 open contact Dustin Mallory at (601) 455-7819.
