Condition of pregnant woman shot at bus stop upgraded

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The pregnant woman shot a school bus stop last Friday has been upgraded to good condition at UMC.

Twenty-six-year-old Gabrielle Black was shot multiple times while waiting at a bus stop with her seven-year-old son at Randall and Congo streets

Investigators say the shooter, 51-year-old Fred Wesley, fled the scene, then fatally shot himself.

Black is two months pregnant and authorities say she will be able to keep the baby.

Black and Wesley lived across the street from each other.

Family members tell us Wesley had tried to run Black off the road Thursday.

She had planned to file a restraining order against him last Friday.
