JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Part of downtown Jackson, including WLBT, was plunged into darkness Tuesday.
It happened after a utility pole snapped in half, at the corner of South Jefferson and South streets.
A witness says a bolt of lightning caused it, but it was mostly sunny at the time, so it's not clear how it happened.
At least two cars were damaged by the falling pole, but no one was injured.
Power was restored to the area after a few minutes.
