VICKSBURG, MS (WLBT) - The Vicksburg-Warren Humane Society is offering a $500.00 reward to anyone who can help recover for stolen puppies.

The dogs were taken from their kennels at the facility during two separate burglaries in the last two weeks.

"We want the puppies back and I want the person prosecuted for doing this," said Humane Society Director Georgia Lynn.

Five puppies and a mother dog were taken in the heists.

Four were black and white, and two were mostly white with tan spots.  All were a Terrier-mix.

Investigators believe the motive may have been to re-sell the dogs, or the thieves could have thought they were full blooded Terriers which are worth more.

The Humane Society says they've had 24 burglaries in the last 6 years.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Warren County Sheriff's Department at (601) 636-1761 or Vicksburg Police at (601) 636-2511.
