Teacher charged with sexual battery of a student

AMITE COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - An assistant football coach and teacher at Centreville Academy is behind bars Thursday night.

According to the McComb Enterprise Journal, 36-year-old Cori Britt is charged with sexual battery involving an alleged incident with a female student.

He is being held in the Amite County jail in lieu of 75-thousand-dollars bond.

Britt is no longer employed at the school.

When WLBT attempted to contact the sheriff's department for more information we told to call back on Friday.
