Robbery may have been motive in shoot out

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - We now have an update to a shooting which happened Tuesday night in the 6500 block of Van Buren Drive.

Police say 32-year-old David Price met 25-year-old Darrius Pope and 23-year-old Johnny Thompson to " conduct a transaction."

Price tried to rob the other two men and started shooting. Pope and Thompson returned fire, drove away and hit a tree.

Price fell from the vehicle and was killed. Pope was treated for non life threatening injuries.

Police believe there may have been a second suspect with Price. No charges have been filed.
