
JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Police were at the scene of a shooting in south Jackson and searching for the gunman earlier Saturday night.
Shots rang out in the 42-hundred block of Rainey Road off McCluer Road around 4:15 p.m. Saturday.
A fifty-six year-old man was standing outside his residence when a teenager walked up and asked for a donation. Officer Colendula Green, with JPD, says when the victim refused the teen pulled out a gun and fired two rounds.
The man was shot once in the arm and was transported to Baptist Hospital in a private vehicle.
The shooter ran away. Officer Green says the gunman is believed to be about 16-years old. He is about six feet tall, wearing a white basketball jersey and white athletic shorts with stripes.
