Lawsuit against Dr. accused of molestation dropped

Posted: Updated:

HINDS COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A Hinds County judge has dismissed a lawsuit against a doctor convicted of molesting a 13-year-old boy during a trip to the 2002 Independence Bowl in Louisiana.

The suit was filed in 2004 against Doctor William Causey with Baptist Health Systems in Jackson. A federal jury in Shreveport convicted Causey and Scott Hitt of Flowood in 2005 for molesting the boy.

Each man was sentenced to 25 years in prison and $200,000 in fines.

Hinds County Circuit judge Swan Yerger says there has been no action in the suit since 2008.

The victim's attorney says that's because the teen can not be found.
