JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - After 52 years a daughter is reunited with her long lost father. It was a tearful reunion at the Jackson International Airport.

Seventy-one-year-old Ronald Bullock saw his newborn daughter at birth. The next day he was shipped off to war. They were never reunited. Fifty-two years have passed.

Diana Tate of Columbus, Mississippi always longed for her father but only knew his last name. Recently, she got on the computer and tracked him down. Saturday Mr. Bullock flew in from California and into the arms of his long lost daughter. He recalls memories of her birth.

"I held her all day when they took her out of her mother. I gave her to the doctors and they cleaned her up and I sat and held her all day. And the next morning I was shipped out," recalled Bullock.

"I just always said I'm going to find my father if it's the last thing that I do. Then I find out he tells me he's had three heart attacks and three strokes and I said well he's healthy... I never gave up," said Diana.

Diana's mother never spoke of her father. But he never forgot her. Every December 8th he would bake a cake and celebrate Diana's birthday. A daughter he never knew until Saturday. Bullocks says his short visit is equivalent to the making of a new family album. One he will never forget.
