JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Mississippi is paving the way to what one group calls impressive improvements to its highway system.
The Reason Foundation ranks Mississippi 45th in fatalities. It also rated the state 29th in deficient or functionally obsolete bridges and 13th in urban interstate congestion.
The state's overall rank in 2008 for improvements to roadways and cost effectiveness was 16th up from 28 in 2007.
