Couple finds armed, masked man in kitchen

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A northeast Jackson couple was startled to find a masked man in their kitchen overnight.

It happened around 3:00 Tuesday morning at a house in the 4300 on East Ridge Drive, which runs between Meadowbrook Road and Northside Drive.

Police say the homeowner was up with her baby when she heard a noise in the kitchen. She assumed it was her husband, but instead she found a masked man armed with a taser gun getting water from the sink.

He ran to the garage, where the woman's husband hit him in the head. The intruder was bleeding, but he managed to get away.

The homeowners and their baby were not hurt, but the mother's wallet was taken.

The intruder is described as a black man in his 50s, about five feet ten inches tall, with a green sweater and dark pants. Call Jackson police at (601) 960-1234 if you have any information.
