RIDGELAND, MS (WLBT) - The City of Ridgeland has to pay back more than $2 million dollars.
The Mississippi Development Authority gave Ridgeland money for the Harbor Walk Project on the Ross Barnett Reservoir which was to include hotels, shops and condos.
Harbor Walk has been at a standstill for years.
According to City Clerk David Overby, now Ridgeland will have to give back $2.3 million dollars or about $287,000 for eight years.
Overby says the city is working to show The Mississippi Development Authority that other projects are underway in the area in hopes of decreasing the amount owed.
