JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The Tea Party of Byram held a rally at the state capitol Saturday. Turnout was sparse on the anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks. The "tea" in tea party stands for "taxed enough already".
U.S. Congressional candidate Bill Marcy spoke at the event. Back in June, Marcy won the Republican runoff for the second district.
This November, Marcy will face incumbent Congressman Bennie Thompson.
"We have a 95%,maybe 96% chance of getting Sarah Palin here with us. We're picking up support all over," Marcy says.
Earlier this year, we reported Marcy lived out of the second congressional district. We're told now that he has moved into Vicksburg, which is part of the district.
