HATTIESBURG, MS (WLBT)- The Hattiesburg school board resumed its interviews this weekend of candidates for school superintendent.
The school board held interviews Saturday morning and another round is scheduled for this evening. Twenty eight people applied for the position vacated this summer by Annie Wimbish.
A first round of interviews began last month. Another wave of interviews is expected in coming days. The school board says it is on track to get a new superintendent in place by the first of the year, despite missing a September first deadline for naming the successor.
