Biloxi festival a success amid Coastal Crisis

Posted: Updated:

GULF COAST (WLBT) - Oil in the Gulf could not keep an annual Biloxi tradition from taking place at The Town Green this weekend.

Organizers say initial numbers show this year's festival to be one of their best yet. The demand for vendor space was so great that they had to turn some away. The festival includes live music, plenty of shopping by way of vendors and a kiddie village, complete with a water slide this year.

The main draw for the festival is of course the seafood.

With the oil crisis over the past few months, we wondered were those who came out concerned about seafood at the event.

"Absolutely not, absolutely not. We've been enjoying the for past couple of months and so we're here to enjoy it today," said Biloxi resident, Tiffany Mobley.

After a gumbo competition Sunday morning, the fun wrapped up just moments ago.
