CLINTON, Miss. (WLBT) - Voters head to the polls in Clinton Tuesday to decide on a $23.5 million school bond issue.
The bonds would pay for construction of a "school within a school" for grades 2 through 5.
About $900,000 would be used to refurbish Clinton and Sumner Hill Junior High Schools.
The old Eastside Elementary School would house the district's administrative offices and alternative school.
Northside Elementary would likely be demolished.
State law says the bond issue must get at least 60 percent approval to pass.
Polls close at 7:00 Tuesday night.
