(NBC) - It's been 24 years since Jimmy Smits began his run on NBC's "LA Law". Starting tonight he's back on NBC and back in the legal profession in the new drama "Outlaw".
Smits plays Cyrus Garza, a Supreme Court Justice who likes the cards and loves the ladies, which makes him a less than typical member of the high court. That leads to him giving up his spot on the bench and opening his own practice.
"One might be surprised, I should say, about where this character's going to be coming from," Smits says.
Even though "Outlaw" is a drama, it comes from an unexpected source: Conan O'Brien's production company.
It premieres tonight on NBC.
