Deadbeat dad headed to federal prison

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Mississippi dead beat dad answered to federal drug charges and state charges stemming from his failure to support his child on Thursday.

35-year-old Robert Earl Reed of Montana was sentenced for conspiracy to possess and distribute cocaine and for violation of probation on felony non support of a child.

Reed must serve 26 months in a federal prison in Colorado.

Within 90 days of his release he must begin paying an extra 200 dollars on top of his regular child support payment.

He owed 40-thousand dollars.
