PORT GIBSON, Miss. (AP) - A Claiborne County jury has found 22-year-old Eboni White guilty of killing her once-close friend and fellow Alcorn State University student.
District Attorney Alexander Martin tells The Clarion-Ledger that the jury took about three hours Thursday to return a verdict of manslaughter in the death of 22-year-old Danielle Newsom.
White faces up to 20 years in prison.
Martin expects a sentencing hearing to come in the next month.
White originally was charged with murder, but the jury had the option of manslaughter.
Authorities say White shot Newsom five times on Nov. 12 following an argument.
