BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - A grand jury will likely review the case of an 18-month-old who died Tuesday after being left in a van for seven hours.
Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said the toddler, Esther Tsang, was rushed to Biloxi Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead from hyperthermia.
Police told the Sun Herald the child's mother, Stacey Tsang, went to work at 10 a.m. and found her child still strapped in the backseat when she got off work at 5 p.m.
Biloxi Police Chief John Miller said Thursday afternoon officers have determined the case should go to a grand jury, which would determine what, if anything, should be done.
No foul play is suspected, but officers will continue to investigate.
