JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A judicial watchdog agency has recommended a public reprimand for Walthall County Justice Court Judge Marion McKenzie.
The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance filed the recommendation Friday with the state Supreme Court, which has the final say in such matters.
The commission alleges McKenzie fixed tickets.
The commission says McKenize disposed of a ticket for hunting over bait for the grandson of a member of the county board of supervisors.
The commission alleges McKenzie also returned tickets to the issuing officer for the officer to help the defendant. It says McKenzie also had conversations about cases outside the courtroom with defendants.
