JACKSON, MS (WLBT)- Prosecuters say a Jackson woman is responsible for the death of a mentally ill woman.
She pleaded guilty Friday to culpable negligence manslaughter and felony abuse of a vulnerable adult. A Hinds county judge sentenced Eugenia Johnson to serve ten years in prison.
Johnson will serve five years of probation after her release. Prosecutors say Johnson worked for co-defendant Stephanie Fields, the owner of a the personal care home where 43-year-old Janice Hollins died of hypothermia.
No trial date has been set for Fields.
