Dental records to identify body found may be available Monday

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Dental records will be needed to determine if the body found in rural Hinds County is that of a missing Clinton woman.

Hinds County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Steve Pickett tells us that could come as early as Monday.

The body of a female was discovered by a hog farmer on his wooded property in Edwards around 6:30 Friday evening. Clinton Police Chief Don Byington says the clothes on the body are an exact match to the ones 81-year-old Ethel Simpson was last seen wearing. The man last seen with Simpson, a convicted sex offender, is now in custody.

Thirty-nine-year old James Hutto was arrested near Auburn, Alabama while driving Simpson's Mercedes Friday. Simpson was seen leaving The River Walk Casino in Vicksurg with Hutto late Monday night.

Right now Hutto is charged with robbing and stabbing a man multiple times in Lee County, Alabama Friday morning.

The day before a member of Hutto's family was found dead in Birmingham.
