JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The convicted sex offender caught in Jackson earlier this month after 21 years on the run from Vermont authorities has been returned to that state.
Jeffrey Scott, spokesman for the Hinds County Sheriff's Department, says 45-year-old Timothy John Vanstean was extradited on September 18th back to the custody of the Vermont Department of Corrections.
Vanstean was convicted of assaulting a child in 1988 and fled Vermont before sentencing scheduled for the following year.
