MADISON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Some Kearney Park residents have water for the first time in almost two weeks. Service was restored Thursday afternoon, after completion of a line to a Flora relief well a mile away.

The residents were getting their water from a well drilled in 1942 at an Army ammunitions dump. It started pumping sand and residents lost water pressure.

Madison County has been supplying bottled water to residents to drink and they were told to boil any water they got from the tap.

Almost 500 businesses and households are in the Kearney Park area.
