Double murder case still unsolved one year later

Posted: Updated:

CARY, MS (WLBT) - It has been exactly one year since a Sharkey County woman and her daughter were found brutally murdered.

Karitha Carroll and little Jamia had been stabbed to death inside their home on Highway 61 in the Cary Community near Rolling Fork last September.

Authorities have not linked anyone to the killings. During the investigation, Sharkey County officials followed countless leads and tested the DNA of a prison inmate against DNA collected at the murder scene.

A group of private citizens also put up a $10,000 dollar reward for information leading to an arrest.

According to Karitha Carroll's mother, there have been no new developments in the case.
