SMITH COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - The private aircraft , owned by CA-HABA Forestry, went down in the Mineral Springs Community on County Road 19, six miles north of Taylorsville.
Helicopter owner Coyt Bailey says pilot Ed Buford is in stable condition after suffering serious injuries including a collapsed lung.
The Baton Rouge man was airlifted to UMC. Buford was working with a forestry crew and spraying chemicals on pine trees at the time of the crash.
The FAA is investigating.
