JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The Mississippi Supreme Court has reversed a $3 million award against the owners of a Jackson Apartment Complex, citing potentially false testimony by a deputy police chief.
The case stemmed from the shooting death of Crystal Coleman, whose body was found in her car January 11th of 2007, at Rebelwood Apartments where she lived.
The lawsuit alleged the complex did not provide adequate security.
Deputy Chief Tyrone Lewis had testified there was no evidence that the shooting happened anywhere else. But the man who shot Coleman told police he killed her at a different apartment complex.
