JACKSON, MS (WLBT)- Over one hundred student leaders from the metro area meet in an open discussion aimed at improving race relations.
It's called "Moving Forward: A Summit on Race Relations." This is a collaborative effort between Mission Mississippi and students from Belhaven, Jackson State University, Millsaps College, Mississippi College and Tougaloo.
It was held Sunday afternoon at the Leggett Center on the campus of Millsaps College. The goal of the summit is to promote understanding and cooperation across racial lines.
Students will have the opportunity to continue the dialogue by joining monthly discussion groups.
In the future, Mission Mississippi hopes to partner with other colleges to host racial reconciliation summits on their campuses.
