JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - In about a month, Entergy customers will see a drop in their electric bills, and not just because of cooler weather.
The Mississippi Public Service Commission has approved Entergy Mississippi's quarterly fuel adjustment.
Beginning October 1st, customers will pay less for electricity from October through December.
The typical residential bill will drop about 12 percent. That means using 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity will cost $87.35 per month for the rest of the year, compared to $99.39 in September.
The decrease is mainly due to a drop in fuel-related costs.
