Lincoln Co. escapees back in Miss.

BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - Six men who escaped from the Lincoln County Jail are back in Mississippi. All waived extradition from Louisiana.

Ahmad Butler, James Durr, Chad Wallace, and Bobby Joe Hudson, all of Brookhaven, and Justin "Jabo" Leake and Austin Hart, both of Bogue Chitto, were recaptured after more than 30 hours of freedom.

Five were picked up together Wednesday in a Marrero, La., hotel room registered in a woman's name. The sixth was found in Harvey, La., in a separate hotel.

Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing tells the Clarion-Ledger that a female suspect is being questioned in connection with the escape.

The inmates escaped the jail late Monday night by burning out a plexiglass window and using bed sheets as a rope to descend from the third-story cell.
